Project 4: Directional Dominance

PROJECT 4003

This piece has 2 focal points. The primary one is at the top left third. It is the exit of the wormhole. The secondary is the bottom right orb. The primary focal point is emphasized by the implication of the light source. All of the orbs mark making points towards the wormhole opening.

The eyes start where there are most congested lines; the wormhole opening. The alignment of the orbs and the directions that the lines travel in direct the eye down to the bottom right.

Directional dominance has been established; from top left down to bottom right, and then back up via the orbs mark making.

The design could use more darkest darks and variation of midtone, even though the midtone is okay.

My most successful aspects about this piece is my ability to create a 3 dimensional sense of being inside of a wormhole. I achieved that with joining lines closer in the background, then spreading them out towards the front. I was also very successful in mark making spherical objects. I could have used more values to make the wormhole pop out more as well; give it more structure.
